Last week when I read Liz's post about our country upbringing I saw she left out a few things so I thought I would add them really quick. Like:
The hours we spent down at the pond looking for tadpoles in various stages of life and the thought of us drowning never crossed mom's mind.
When it snowed we would leave the house for the whole day to sled and play and mom never worried about us being kidnapped or getting lost.
Walking to Perkins or better yet, driving in the back of dad's old red truck with boards missing out of the bottom. We could pick out our favorite candy or soda and nobody fell out the back or was kidnapped off the side of the road.
Going to Kinship and playing outside while the parents were all inside. We use to play on our bikes down on the road and it was pitch black.
You know it's a wonder we're still alive:) But oh we had so much fun!!!!!
P.S. My funniest thought that came back to me was one of those days that we hiked up the mountain and made our trail. We were headed back down and I wanted to get down faster but there was this huge sage bush in the way and we were on a rock wondering how we would get around. You know how the quickest way to get somewhere is a straight line? Well, I shoved Liz face down on the bush and walked right over her. Voila, straight line:) Let's just say she wasn't too happy but Beck's and I were both over her before she could get up to do anything about it.
