Baking, Baking, Baking!

Well, I got up at 4:45 and did my 1-1/2 hr. yoga then got the boys ready for school and another day has begun! I am so glad we have only 5 more days of the insanity. I know a lot of parents dread summer time with their kids around 24/7, but I enjoy it. Not to say we don't have our days, but just the stress of getting to and from school can send my day into a nasty tailspin. Trevor & Tallon had an awesome year in school and they have both grown so much physically and mentally. Tallon is going to be a big 1st grader and Trev will be in 3rd grade. One more year and Trev will be in with the upper graders! That will mean sports! I'm anxious to see how he'll do.

When I got home from taking the boys to school I decided to start baking. I made CinnaMonster muffins first. They have a cinnamon/sugar center and a struesel topping. Next it was on to banana bread, three loaves! I'm heading back in to make chocolate chip cookies now. Mind you this is all cooled wrapped and immediately placed in the freezer so as not to be eaten by me:)

For my confirmation class graduation, my friend Sarah gave me a neat little book of Bible verses and a devtion that goes with each one. She marked one she said stood out to her just for me. Here it is:

I'm eager to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. In this way, Each of us will be a blessing to each other.
Romans 1:12

God is not the only one with the power to bless. You, too, can build others up by showing them special favor, which is what a blessing really is. One way is through the gift of encouragement.
Paul's words are a practical example of God's love at work. Love cannot exist in a vacuum. You have to share it. When you encourage others by your loving example, actions, words, or prayers, you'll discover that your gift comes with a bonus. You will, in turn, be encouraged. The more you take the opportunity to cheer on and support those around you, the more you'll experience the joy that love can bring.

Yay for baking!!!!! Especially since I was the recipient of one muffin and one loaf of bread. Dad was watching me cut the heel off and was thanking me for cutting it for him. I turned, looked in his face, and said, "not on your life pal!" and ate it! Boy was it good! I figured there was another one there if he wanted it that bad. He thought that I was being so selfish. I was.

Thanks Nicole! Love you, mom
